I am about to jump through my skin here…I've been reading Lee Strobel's book, The Case For Faith, for a while now, and I'm about out of ink b/c I'm underlining so many things! Here's one quote from Strobel and Ravi Zacharias as they talked about the Christian belief that Jesus is the only way:
"It's one thing for Christians to believe that (that being that Jesus is the only way)," I said. "It's another thing to communicate it without sounding smug or superior. But Christians often come off that way."
Zacharias sighed. It was a charge he had heard all too often. "Yes, if truth is not undergirded by love, it makes the possessor of that truth obnoxious and the truth repulsive," he said.
Wow…that Zacharias quote hit me between the eyes! "If truth is not undergirded by love, it makes the possessor of that truth obnoxious and the truth repulsive!"
In my younger years, I know I was a bit of a, well, butt head for Jesus. Very dogmatic and forward about what I believed. It's not that I believe differently now, I'm just a bit more seasoned in the way I share it!
