OK...humor me here. As we go into 2011, look for opportunities to wear your green "Get Real" shirts (Get Real obviously representing our Real Life, Real God, Real World purpose statement). While you are serving in some capacity, wear the shirt. While you are enjoying a day out with the family, wear the shirt. While you are at work, wear the shirt.
Have someone snap a picture of you on their cell phone camera, send it on to me, and I'll post it on my blog. Sure you may end up looking funny in the picture like I do in the picture above (look a bit like the Hunchback of ND, as opposed to a ND fan). Maybe by the summer we could have a contest to see the most creative or amazing place someone wore their Get Real shirt at.
What would you suggest the prize should be? Maybe a framed Get Real shirt signed by the Pathway custodial team? Or maybe signed by the Worship Team? That would be a real prize...something you'd want to display in your living room.
Secret Motive: There really is a secret motive behind this...let's get our church name out there! Wouldn't it be something if by simply wearing your Get Real shirt, someone would ask you what it means. Then you would have the opportunity to explain the simplicity of what our church is all about using the R3 idea. Then they would end up attending a service, maybe starting a new relationship with Christ, or rekindling an old relationship with Him, and their whole family would end up coming to Jesus...ALL B/C A GROUP OF PEOPLE WORE A STINKIN' GREEN T-SHIRT!
I'm serious...let's see what God does through this in 2011. Go for it! Take a picture of it! Send the picture to me! And be ready for conversations to be started!
